Jean sits down with the Reverends – Dr Mark Vierra and Mark Laponce, of North Hollywood Church of Religious Science, to discuss the amazing generosity of the human spirit and our ability to turn the other cheek and look away from hurtfulness.

Jean has been a member of the North Hollywood Church of Religious Science (NHCRS) for 12 years and a practitioner with them for 10 years. She has served on their board and heads the NHCRS film society which shows seasonal inspirational films followed by discussions.
Having been raised Catholic, the feeling that there was something more going on followed Jean as she grew. She found this church through her friend Diana Donaldson when Jean was hosting a “Humanities Team” meeting at her home, based on the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh.

It is beautiful to see people coming together to truly help each other.
The church is based on the teachings of Ernest Holmes. “Prepare your mind to receive the best that life has to offer… Life is not just something to be endured. It is to be lived in joy, in a fullness without limit” are two of Jean’s favorite Ernest Holmes quotes. The knowing that there is a real goodness and vibrancy in the universe resonates with Jean. “Focusing on the ‘good’ is what I try to do daily. I believe that what we focus on we receive more of. That’s what insidewink is all about!”
Rev. Dr. Mark Vierra, who heads the church, speaks weekly on Sundays about our eternal connection to God. His messages are always inspiring, humorous and practical.
Rev. Marc Laponce is the assistant minister who offers the Wednesday night healing service. His sweet lightness of being is grounded by his wisdom. Both Reverends have become Jean’s friends.

The church has weekly services on Sundays (9:45 am & 11:30 am) and Wednesdays (mediation at 6:50 pm & service at 7:00 pm). NHCRS also provides many ways to get involved. Classes, ministries, and workshops, each providing a space for reflection, spiritual growth and community.

When we recognize our oneness, there’s nothing to compare; no homelessness or wealthy. There were just 2 hearts sharing God’s Bounty. There is always enough good to go around.
