A respectable quote –
“To be soft is to be powerful.”
Rupi Kaur

This is the month of Mother’s Day and spring renewal so thoughts come up about “The Feminine”. The “Feminine” way of being is indeed powerful, for it is always life affirming and inclusive. Yes, it is known to be kind and nurturing…and yes, it can be fiercely determined and courageously wise.

Feminine power is in no way exclusive to the female gender; as we all possess these masculine and feminine traits within us. This power of the feminine to which I’m referring, is the power of your heart. It is an emotional intelligence, a kind of knowingness that operates from one’s intuitive and compassionate nature.

I’d like to address the power of the feminine that has to deal with the skillful art of collaboration and cooperation.

Open-heartedness…

…is the trusting of the heart and allowing details to unfold naturally. It is the moment we pause to breathe and take stock in the decisions ahead of us. Then we listen to our heart, our soul and move from there.

Compassionate implementation

Organization and managerial skills are important tools and to partner those with compassion creates a real clear path to success. Knowing that your fellow workers, your family, your friends may not do things the way you do – will help leave space for the differences that create a truly inclusive collaborative unit.

Creativity

So often we think of creativity as solely part of the world of the Arts, but when we view creativity as available and “working” on a daily basis we open up to our own creativity. The definition of creativity is “original ideas” so we can take a new route to work, cook a new recipe, structure our day differently and express our own creativity.

Gentleness…

…can be powerful. A gentle nature allows people to feel safe. It makes it easier for people to express themselves and when people feel that open freedom miracles happen.

So this month, let’s celebrate these traits in all of us and give those “mother figures” in our lives an extra hug and thank you!
